From user voices to a backlog: a domestic-worker marketplace app

Turning nine raw user statements into user stories, grouping them into epics, and picking which epic to build first.

This is a structured exercise from the Harisenin UI/UX & PM bootcamp (Basic Mission 2) — the app concept (an ART / domestic-worker marketplace) and the raw user statements are given by the program. Shown here as evidence of turning qualitative input into Agile backlog artifacts.

4 epics · 9 stories
A backlog built from raw user voices

01Context

The brief gave nine raw statements ("user voices") from both sides of a domestic-worker marketplace — employers and the helpers (ART) themselves. The task: rewrite each as a user story, then organize all nine into epics.

029 user stories

03Backlog: 4 epics

EpicStories included
1 · ART Profile
discovery & matching
Search online, search by skill/experience, AI-based recommendation.
2 · Reporting
tracking performance & productivity
Remote monitoring, indirect reporting, visual performance data, in-app work reports.
3 · For Us
peer-to-peer review
Monthly feedback exchange between employer and ART.
4 · Empower
rights & obligations
Transparent guarantee of the ART's rights.

04Priority call

Epic 2 — Reporting — was picked as the first to build. Reasoning: it's the shared priority for both sides of the marketplace, enabling a real-time dashboard (schedule, attendance, tasks done), structured in-app reporting for the ART instead of informal chat messages, notifications for both parties, and a performance ranking built from task history.

05What this demonstrates

Reading qualitative input and converting it into the structure a backlog actually needs — stories grouped into epics, with a stated reason for sequencing — rather than building whatever request came in loudest.
